01

What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember your preferences, maintain your session, and understand how you interact with the platform. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, and browser fingerprinting techniques.

GeoRevelo uses a minimal cookie strategy — we only deploy cookies that are strictly necessary for platform operation and basic analytics. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking pixels.

02

Cookies We Use

The following table details all cookies and storage mechanisms used by the platform:

Supabase Authentication

sb-access-token / sb-refresh-token — Session tokens managed by Supabase Auth. These are essential for maintaining your authenticated session. Type: Essential. Duration: Session / 7 days.

Firebase Authentication

Firebase Auth persistence — Local storage entries used by Firebase for real-time database authentication. Type: Essential. Duration: Session.

Google Analytics

_ga / _gid — Anonymous usage analytics to understand platform adoption and feature usage. Type: Analytics. Duration: 2 years / 24 hours.

03

Essential Cookies

Essential cookies are required for the platform to function correctly. Without these, you would not be able to log in, maintain a session, or perform image analyses. These cookies cannot be disabled.

  • Authentication tokens: Maintain your logged-in state across page navigation.
  • CSRF protection: Prevent cross-site request forgery attacks on form submissions.
  • Session preferences: Remember your selected map mode (2D/3D), active panel state, and workspace configuration.
04

Analytics Cookies

We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate usage patterns. This data is anonymized and helps us improve the platform. Analytics cookies track:

  • Page views and navigation patterns (which features are most used).
  • Session duration and bounce rates.
  • Device type and browser information (for responsive design optimization).
  • Geographic region (country-level only, not precise location).

We have enabled IP anonymization in Google Analytics, meaning your full IP address is never stored by Google.

05

Managing Cookies

You can control and manage cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:

  • View and delete existing cookies.
  • Block all cookies or only third-party cookies.
  • Set preferences for specific websites.
  • Enable "Do Not Track" signals (we honor DNT headers by disabling analytics cookies).

Note

Disabling essential cookies will prevent you from logging in and using the platform. We recommend only blocking analytics cookies if you wish to opt out of anonymous usage tracking.

06

Third-Party Cookies

We do not use advertising networks, social media tracking pixels, or any third-party cookies for marketing purposes. The only third-party cookies present on the platform are:

  • Google Analytics (analytics only, with IP anonymization enabled).
  • Map tile providers may set cookies when loading interactive maps. These are functional cookies required for map rendering.
